NUR 4904 - Nursing Research and Evidence-Based Practice (Part II)

Course Description
This course focuses on the concepts of the research process, evidence-based practice (EBP), and the practical application of EBP to enhance clinical practice. Focus is on project-based experiential learning (PBEL) in the application of evidence to nursing practice.
Prereq: MTH 2430 , transfer credit for NUR 4903  (quarter system prereq: NU 390)

Course Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
  • Identify a real-world healthcare problem, with input from relevant stakeholders and subject-matter mentors, that is grounded in population health data, nursing science and evidence-based practice (Population Health/PBEL)
  • Explore techniques to promote and disseminate evidence-based practice decisions in nursing practice (Communication/PBEL)
  • Explore implications for nursing practice of an evidence-based practice change (Evidence-Based Practice)

  • Sharing of findings from nursing literature review as they relate to a real-world healthcare problem
