NU 3302L - Application of Psychomotor Skills (ASD)0 lecture hours 3 lab hours 1 credits Course Description This lab course provides students with the knowledge and skills for development and application of psychomotor skills. Students develop confidence and skill proficiency through deliberate and repetitive practice. Major emphasis is placed on quality and safety and current evidence for best practices in performing skills and procedures. As part of the progression in psychomotor skill development, students receive supportive and constructive feedback on their performance. (prereq: NU 2521 ) (coreq: NU 3302 ) Course Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Demonstrate psychomotor skills and procedures safely, efficiently, and compassionately in the nursing laboratory environment (Level 3, Nursing Care)
- Develop psychomotor skill and procedure proficiency through practice in facilitated open lab hours (Level 3, Nursing Care)
- Critically reflect on one’s approach while incorporating constructive feedback to further develop skill proficiency (Level 3, Critical Thinking)
- Use effective verbal, written, and electronic communication skills when performing and documenting psychomotor skills in the nursing laboratory environment (Level 3, Communication)
