MA 136A - Calculus for Engineers I4 lecture hours 0 lab hours 4 credits This course begins with a short review of topics in algebra and trigonometry before introducing the student to differential calculus. Topics include algebra of functions, limits, continuity, differentiation of algebraic, trigonometric, exponential and logarithmic functions and application of the derivative to curve sketching and optimization problems. This course is the same as MA 136 . The ‘A’ designation after the course number indicates this is a special section taught by our Learning Resource Center staff. There are extra math lab hours built in as a requirement for successful completion if the course.
