MS 342 - Management Principles3 lecture hours 0 lab hours 3 credits This is a survey course on the management processes of planning, organizing, leading and controlling. The course begins with a comparison of the current spectrum of management philosophies. Social responsibility and ethical decision-making are normally covered through case studies, while the emerging interest in international and cross-cultural managing is interwoven throughout the course. Traditional functions of management such as strategic planning and organizational design are given special emphasis to stimulate discussion on how organizations adapt to global conditions.
