EN 432 - Business Communications3 lecture hours 0 lab hours 3 credits Effective communication is key to building strong business relationships and managing high-stake events. Business communication is “transactional”: its main purpose is to move business activity forward. In this course, students study and apply rhetorical principles that get results in a business environment. Topics include creating more influential web content, maximizing the potential of social media, developing crisis communication tools, proposal/grant writing, and customizing project communications to the individual needs of multiple internal and external audiences. Students will work with a non-profit organization to seek out funding opportunities and then prepare a persuasive proposal meeting the needs of both grant seeker and funding source. (prereq: EN 241 )
