CV 320 - Environmental Engineering3 lecture hours 2 lab hours 4 credits Environmental engineering addresses the design and operation of systems for water pollution control, air pollution control, and the management of solid and hazardous (including radioactive) wastes. Topics include environmental mass and energy balances, water and wastewater treatment, air pollution control, solid waste collection, disposal, and recycling, the potential for biogas recovery and utilization at wastewater treatment plants and municipal solid waste landfills, and an introduction to environmental laws, regulations and the discharge permitting process. (prereq: CH 201 , MA 137 )
