BUS 2100 - Organizational Management3 lecture hours 0 lab hours 3 credits Course Description This introductory course examines behavior in organizations through three lenses: individual, team, and organization; it then links those perspectives to the four pillars of management: planning, organizing, leading, controlling. Students explore the intersections of ethics, diversity, equity and inclusion, and globalization as a means of maximizing organizational and personal success. Prereq: None Note: None This course meets the following Raider Core CLO Requirement: None Course Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Demonstrate intra- and inter-personal awareness and skills
- Recognize motivation and power dynamics to promote ethical leadership
- Evaluate organizational mission and vision statements, structure, culture, and policies & practice to understand how companies organize resources effectively and equitably
- Analyze four pillars of management and three lenses of organizational behavior to understand personal and organizational fit
- Describe management planning and control techniques to support organization success
