TCM 3801 - Technical Communication Internship

1 lecture hours 0 lab hours 3 credits
Course Description
All internships are 90 hours and must be arranged through the Humanities, Social Science, and Communication Department. This internship is designed to allow the student to experience the realities of the profession. Each student is required to submit a comprehensive final report documenting all aspects of the internship.
Prereq: Junior standing, minor coordinator consent

Course Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
  • Describe how the communication area fits in with the rest of the company
  • Explain how jobs are assigned to this area of the company
  • Assist their supervisors in conceptualizing a project
  • Assist or take charge of completing a project
  • Perform as a professional by being critical, helpful, punctual, and polite
