BUS 2710 - Database Management3 lecture hours 0 lab hours 3 credits Course Description In this course, students will be introduced to the concepts of relational database management systems. Students will learn how write database queries using SQL to answer questions and support business analysis. Additionally, students will learn basic database design methods (normalization) and develop and implement a relational database. Prereq: None Note: Students may receive credit for only one of BUS 2710 and CSC 3320 . This course meets the following Raider Core CLO Requirement: None Course Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Describe the role of databases and database management systems within an organization
- Identify and explain basic database concepts, including the structure and operation of a relational database
- Write SQL queries to extract and manipulate data
- Design and implement a simple relational database
