ELE 4902 - Electrical Engineering - Senior Design Project II1 lecture hours 0 lab hours 3 credits Course Description This is the second course in the two-course EE senior design sequence. In this course, the teams further develop and validate all major subsystems of their design. These subsystems are further modified if necessary and integrated into a complete solution. The solution is verified against the requirements and specifications developed in ELE 4901 through testing and other methods. It is expected that each team will have a working prototype to demonstrate by the end of this course. Teams present their results at a public showing. This course meets the following Raider Core CLO requirement: Integrate Learning. (prereq: completion of ELE 4901 in the previous semester) Course Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Work as part of a design team to completely design, prototype, and test a design
- Select an appropriate prototype technique to demonstrate feasibility of the design
- Develop a prototype or proof-of-concept model
- Select and order the appropriate materials required for development of the prototype
- Evaluate their behavior on their design team in the context of professional and ethical responsibility
- Utilize laboratory instrumentation for debugging and testing
- Prepare a verification plan and procedures to validate the design meets specifications
- Conduct steps that verify/validate the design based on the specifications
- Prepare a complete project report documenting the design, prototype, and verification results
- Communicate the project results to faculty, peers and the general public in a trade show setting
