CVE 3611 - Traffic Engineering

Course Description
This course provides an in-depth assessment of traffic related issues on transportation infrastructure. Students analyze traffic demands and design systems to efficiently manage traffic flow. (prereq: CVE 3601 , MTH 2480 ) (quarter system prereq: CV 380, MA 262)
Course Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
  • Demonstrate knowledge of interrupted and uninterrupted flow facilities
  • Illustrate the methods and proper application of data collection
  • Analyze intersection conditions and select the appropriate level of control
  • Evaluate intersection layout, design, and traffic signal timing
