CVE 3611 - Traffic Engineering3 lecture hours 0 lab hours 3 credits Course Description This course provides an in-depth assessment of traffic related issues on transportation infrastructure. Students analyze traffic demands and design systems to efficiently manage traffic flow. (prereq: CVE 3601 , MTH 2480 ) (quarter system prereq: CV 380, MA 262) Course Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Demonstrate knowledge of interrupted and uninterrupted flow facilities
- Illustrate the methods and proper application of data collection
- Analyze intersection conditions and select the appropriate level of control
- Evaluate intersection layout, design, and traffic signal timing
