BA 2015 - Business Analytics I3 lecture hours 0 lab hours 3 credits Course Description This course provides an introduction to the field of business analytics including using analysis to support data driven decision making to improve business performance. Through the application of a standard analysis process, students will gain hands-on experience applying exploratory data analysis and statistical techniques to business case studies. (prereq: none) Course Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Identify data sources and acquisition, evaluation, and preparation methods for analytic processing of data
- Identify and describe the standard steps taken to analyze data for a decision-making scenario
- Apply statistical and quantitative analysis techniques and tools to a given decision-making scenario
- Demonstrate application of ethical principles in analyzing business scenarios for decision making
