RP 101 - Language Lab0 lecture hours 0 lab hours 0 credits Course Description This course is designed to remediate deficiencies in the core classes of the ESL program: Listening and Speaking, Reading and Writing, Intensive Grammar, and Intensive Writing. Students will do an initial self-assessment of their work in the previous level and create an individualized education plan (IEP) which they will work on for the duration of the class. Attendance and active participation are mandatory in this pass/fail class. Students who do not receive a “P” (pass) will not be allowed to move on to the next level. (prereq: none) Course Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Identify areas of needed improvement in English and overall study skills
- Set personal goals and work independently to achieve them
- Remediate deficiencies in determined areas
