BA 3803 - Continuous Improvement II3 lecture hours 0 lab hours 3 credits Course Description In this course, Lean concepts and techniques will be applied to a business problem. Students will learn to identify what is value added and what is waste within a business process so that waste can be eliminated. Concepts such as 5S, value stream mapping, and Kaizen will be introduced and applied. (prereq: none) Course Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Identify and describe the five principles of Lean thinking
- Identify and eliminate waste within a business process
- Apply Lean tools and techniques to improve business processes
- Evaluate the impact of organizational culture on continuous improvement
