UR 4983 - Undergraduate Research III3 lecture hours 0 lab hours 3 credits Course Description This is the final course in the three-course undergraduate research sequence. In the first part of the course, the student continues and then completes the main body of research. In the second part of the course, the student disseminates the research findings in both written and oral formats. The student prepares a thesis document which is submitted to the faculty advisor in advance of a public oral presentation. (prereq: UR 4982 , consent of department chair). Course Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Demonstrate technical and scientific expertise in the research area
- Prepare a written thesis, which documents the research project and findings
- Present the research in a formal public forum
- Demonstrate independent thinking and learning
