NS 1185 - Leadership and Management3 lecture hours 0 lab hours 3 credits Course Description Stress on experiential approach to leadership and management with military emphasis. Motivation and communication theory and practice. Group dynamics and decision-making techniques. Lines of control and organizational structure. Case studies, experiential exercises and situational problems will be used. Offered fall term. (prereq: Non-NROTC students require consent of department chair) Course Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Gain an understanding of a variety of leadership styles
- Understand group dynamics and how they affect a leader
- Demonstrate an understanding of interpersonal factors and how the leader can inspire others
