Overview

The data science minor fosters expertise in software development, data analysis, computational science, machine learning, statistics, high-performance computing, and AI that complements a student’s domain expertise from their major.  Critical thinking and practical applications are emphasized throughout the minor to enable students to design and carry out rigorous, data-driven analysis on real data and applied problems. Students pursuing a computer science major and students pursuing the AI path of the biomedical engineering major are not eligible to complete a data science minor. For additional information, see the minors policy.
