1 The physics/chemistry elective may be selected from either Physics III or Chemistry III (including lab); the science elective may be selected from BI or SC prefixed courses only (CH or PH prefixed courses do not count); the math/science elective may be selected from MA 330 , MA 343 , MA 3620 , MA 3710 , all MA-38X courses, or any BI, CH, PH, or SC prefixed courses.
2 All students must choose one of the three specialization tracks within civil engineering: ConM - Construction Management, EWRE - Environmental and WasteWater Engineering, or StrE - Structural Engineering.
3 There are 15 credits of humanities and social sciences (HU/SS) electives: 6 credits minimum from the humanities and 6 credits minimum from the social sciences; at least 3 credits must be selected from the political science series (SS-45X)
4 There are 8 credits of undergraduate technical electives that may be selected from the engineering, science, math, or business areas (300-level or above); 3 credits must be used to take a design-course from a second specialization area within civil engineering.
5 Graduate electives may be chosen from AE, CV, and MG prefixed courses numbered 400/4000 and above
6 May substitute MS 221 or MS 322 for MS 2220 .
7 Required for ConM specialty students only.
8 May substitute 3 credits of graduate electives for this course.
Students are required to take the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam in their senior year, as a condition of graduation.
Admission to the MS portion of the BS/MS CVE program in the student’s senior year is contingent upon maintaining a minimum overall MSOE GPA of 3.0 or above. Otherwise, the student will have to apply in writing, and admission is then at the discretion of the Program Director.
Students in the Air Force ROTC program can make the following substitution: AF 4142 for SS-45X course
