AE 732 - Steel Design for Buildings (AISI)3 lecture hours 0 lab hours 3 credits Course Description This course presents cold-formed structural steel properties and design of cold-formed steel structural members using LRFD and ASD methodology published by AISI. It also covers flexural members, compression members, beam-columns, connections and cold-formed steel shear diaphragms for residential construction. (prereq: AE 616 ) Course Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to: • design cold-formed steel members for flexural and shear capacity
• design cold-formed steel columns and beam-columns
