ELE 4390 - THL Communication Network3 lecture hours 2 lab hours 4 credits Course Description This is a placeholder course for the course Communication Networks that is taken by MSOE students studying abroad at the Technische Hochschule Lübeck (THL) as part of the Electrical Engineering Exchange program with THL. It is not intended for regular offering at MSOE. Course Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Explain the structure and functions of reference models
- Explain important terms in networking and understand and explain difference between service and protocol
- Derive quality of service requirements for the underlying network and design protocols to meet these requirements for a given application
- Design, set up and maintain a communication network
