ELE 4190 - THL Advanced Analog Design3 lecture hours 2 lab hours 4 credits Course Description This is a placeholder course for the course Computer Aided Design that is taken by MSOE students studying abroad at the Technische Hochschule Lübeck (THL) as part of the Electrical Engineering Exchange program with THL. It is not intended for regular offering at MSOE. Course Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Follow the development process for electrical components and their mapping into integrated computer aided development systems.
- Utilize a Computer Aided Design (CAD) system to enter electrical circuits and be aware of the structure of net lists describing electrical circuits.
- Apply various simulation options in PSpice for circuit design.
- Measure as well as derive the basic transistor and operational amplifier circuits and their properties and parameters.
- Determine the bias point selection and derivation for different applications.
- Translate their circuit designs and practical implementations into operation in a structured manner and thus systematically detect and eliminate design errors or defective components.
- Verify their own circuit designs in simulation and practical implementation.
- Document the laboratory tasks in a suitable form and thus represent their individual learning progress.
