Course Description
This course covers content from CH 302. This course has been designed to provide students with the third quarter of a one-year general chemistry course. This allows students to more thoroughly understand subjects such as thermochemistry, electrochemistry, solutions chemistry, and transition metal chemistry. (prereq: CH 201)
Course Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
  • Be exposed in more depth to quantum mechanics
  • Be exposed in more depth to various topics involved in phase change
  • Understand the chemistry of transition metals including crystal field theory, molecular orbital theory and the complex ion formation
  • Understand thermodynamics including electrochemistry
  • Expand their knowledge of solution chemistry
