ACS 4901 - Actuarial Science Senior Capstone Project3 lecture hours 0 lab hours 3 credits Course Description Students, working in teams of two to four, propose a project or select one of the projects offered by the faculty advisor of the course. The purpose of the project is to apply the knowledge that they have learned through the Actuarial Science program courses to a case study. Students will meet regularly with their faculty advisor to report their progress. At the end of the course, the students present their final project either at a professional meeting or to their peers and department faculty at the end of the semester both orally and in a written report. This course meets the following Raider Core CLO requirement: Integrate Learning. (prereq: ACS 1540 , ACS 3420 , MTH 2620 , or program director consent) (quarter system prereq: MA 390, MA 2410, MA 2631 or program director consent) Course Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Apply probability concepts in a real-life case study
- Apply statistics and time series analysis to a real-life case study
- Apply finance and financial mathematics concepts to a real-life case study
