BIE 4902 - Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Senior Design II2 lecture hours 3 lab hours 3 credits Course Description This is the second and final course in the chemical and biomolecular engineering senior design sequence. Student teams continue their project from BIE 4901 and build and test the system that is being designed. A final design review takes place. Emphasis is on putting together a senior design report. The work is reviewed via an oral presentation, a poster presentation, and a written comprehensive report. The final product (or process), design development, and the proper use and maintenance of the engineering logbook are assessed according to professional standards. This course meets the following Raider Core CLO requirement: Integrate Learning. (prereq: BIE 4901 taken and passed in the same academic year) Course Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Build, test, and demonstrate prototype (product or process)
- Prepare a comprehensive project report
- Maintain an engineering design log
- Present a formal final design review
- Present a poster summarizing the design project
