CON 4051 - Construction Project Management II2 lecture hours 2 lab hours 3 credits Course Description This course further develops skills and knowledge necessary for effective management of construction phase activities. Exercises require application of software to reinforce integration of detailed estimating, bidding, and scheduling skills. Ethical imperatives are discussed. (prereq: CON 3001 , CON 3021 , CON 3061 ) (quarter system prereq: CM 3210, CM 3250, CM 4311) Course Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Develop a working knowledge of applying construction project planning principles to a specific site and specific contract documents
- Discuss aspects of construction safety and how to develop a site-specific safety plan
- Explain the difference and properties of Quality Assurance and Quality Control, and develop a site-specific Quality Plan
- Develop a working knowledge of possible ethical dilemmas that can erupt during construction operations and how they should be solved
- Formulate detailed estimating, bidding, and scheduling
- Develop details of construction contract modification administration and control
- Apply lean construction principles and tools to enhance project productivity and create an environment of continuous improvement
