Course Description
The course covers fundamentals of interface design and introduces algorithm-driven user interface (UI) design patterns. The course emphasizes the role of human-centered approach in UI design to improve the reliability, safety, and trustworthiness of AI applications. Students will human-centered approach to prototype a user interface with AI-enabled capabilities.  (prereq: none)
Course Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
  • Articulate the fundamental principles of UI design and apply them to a real-world project
  • Employ human-centered approach to design intelligent and exploratory user interfaces (UI)
  • Design a low-fidelity prototype utilizing UI design principles while considering contexts and users
  • Advocate for human-centered approach in AI-enabled UI design
