HU 410S - Spanish I2 lecture hours 2 lab hours 3 credits Course Description This course aims to provide the student with an understanding of the basic sounds, morphology, and to a smaller extent, customs and sometimes, the civilization of the language. Through exercises and dictation, the student will be exposed to the reading, understanding, and writing of the language. The intention is to perform all these activities concurrently. A large part of the time will be devoted to class exercises. (prereq: none) Course Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of the practical and fundamental skills of Spanish presented in this course in reading, writing, listening and speaking with emphasis on communication
- Use practically and creatively the target language both in and out of class
- Share insights into the cultures of Spanish-speaking people and hopefully, a greater understanding of the world and our place in it
