Overview

The Foundations of Applied AI Minor provides broad applied AI foundations for students across all majors. It is designed to develop foundational knowledge of applied AI and computing principles, practical application of contemporary AI and generative tools across diverse contexts, critical evaluation of AI systems and their outputs, and social responsibility and ethics in the use and development of AI technologies. The accessible coursework is designed to equip every graduate with transferable applied AI skills that complement their primary field of study, whether in engineering, business, or nursing. The minor includes an applied AI practicum that allows students to apply their skills in an area aligned with their disciplinary interests, providing hands-on experience connecting AI concepts to real-world problems.

The minor builds upon the Foundations of Applied AI Certificate  coursework by incorporating an applied AI practicum course that deepens practical experience through project-based learning.

For additional information, see the minors policy .
