Overview

The Foundations of Applied AI Certificate provides broad applied AI foundations for students across all majors. It is designed to develop foundational knowledge of applied AI and computing principles, practical application of contemporary AI and generative tools across diverse contexts, critical evaluation of AI systems and their outputs, and social responsibility and ethics in the use and development of AI technologies. The accessible coursework is designed to equip every graduate with transferable applied AI skills that complement their primary field of study, whether in engineering, business, or nursing. Students completing the certificate will gain essential knowledge to responsibly evaluate, apply, and continue learning about AI technologies throughout their careers, with flexibility to pursue domain-specific AI depth within their majors or through various professional opportunities.  For additional information, see the certificates policy .
