Overview
A student enrolled in a degree program at MSOE can also earn a certificate in Spanish. This program helps students develop strong Spanish-language communication skills while gaining a deeper understanding of the cultures and histories of Spanish, Latin American, and Latinx communities.
Spanish is the third most widely spoken language in the world, and its influence continues to grow. In the United States alone, more than 45 million people speak Spanish as their primary language, with an additional 20 million bilingual speakers. As a result, the United States has the second-largest population of Spanish speakers globally. Given these impressive figures, earning a certificate in Spanish can open the door to richer professional and personal experiences.
The program requires between 6 and 12 credits, depending on a student’s proficiency upon entry. To earn the certificate, at least 6 credits must be completed at MSOE. For more information, see the certificates policy .
