Overview
The Bachelor of Science in Operations & Systems Management (OSM) at Milwaukee School of Engineering prepares students to analyze and improve operational and technical systems in dynamic organizations. The program emphasizes strategic problem-solving, effective collaboration, professional communication skills, delivering stakeholder-focused information, and application of artificial intelligence tools for optimization of complex business processes. The program builds business processes and systems expertise in operations and analytics through applied learning in Lean Six Sigma, continuous improvement, planning and control systems, programming, and artificial intelligence. Students use industry-standard tools and AI-enhanced analytics to evaluate processes and optimize performance across business units. Graduates are prepared to apply an entrepreneurial mindset and systems-thinking approach to deliver measurable value and improve organizational workflows.
Student Program Outcomes
Graduates with a B.S. in Operations and Systems Management will be able to:
1.Strategically analyze, evaluate, and solve business problems using technology and an understanding of the social context.
2. Prepare and deliver concise, persuasive stakeholder-centered information in a professional manner.
3. Leaders of character who promote effectiveness in working with and leading diverse teams.
4. Exhibit an entrepreneurial mindset.
5. Evaluate operational processes using Lean Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, supply chain optimization, and planning/scheduling/control methodologies using the proper tools along with AI enhancements.
6. Apply key methodologies in operations, supply chains, technical systems integrating AI to enable the design, analysis, and improvement of workflows in both goods-producing and service-rendering organizations.
