Overview

The User Experience (UX) Program at Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) offers a well-rounded educational path that resides at the intersection of design, technology, creativity, and hands-on application. This program extends beyond the confines of conventional digital interfaces, embracing immersive technologies, physical product design, generative AI, and foundational front-end development skills to provide a holistic approach to UX education. It is designed for individuals who are captivated by the fusion of groundbreaking design and technological innovation, positioning MSOE’s UX Program as the premier choice for aspiring UX professionals.

Educational Objectives

The program aims to produce graduates who will:

  1. Apply their education to become productive professionals and active contributors in their chosen fields
  2. Exhibit initiative and leadership within their professional endeavors
  3. Commit to ongoing professional development
  4. Recognize the impact of their professional activities on society

Student Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the program, students should be able to:

  1. Apply inclusive, human-centered design to create and evaluate digital, physical, and immersive experiences.
  2. Employ principles of visual, user interface, and data visualization design.
  3. Conduct user research and synthesize findings into actionable requirements.
  4. Apply ethical standards and professional integrity in UX and emerging technologies
  5. Use AI and front-end technologies to prototype and evaluate UX solutions.
  6. Collaborate effectively and manage team dynamics.
  7. Communicate effectively in oral written, interpersonal, and visual formats.
  8. Select and use professional tools and workflows for UX research, design prototyping, and evaluation.
