A student enrolled in a degree program at MSOE may also earn a Minor in Psychology. Upon completion of this course of study, students will have a broad knowledge of many areas of psychology, along with a strong understanding of research methodology that plays an integral role in the field of psychology. Understanding of human behavior and thought processes is beneficial for students navigating diverse workplaces of the 21st century.

For additional information, see the minors policy .

Required courses (6 credits):

One statistics course from the following (3 credits):

Two social science or humanities courses from the following (6 credits):

Total: 24 credits

Notes:

  • It would be ideal for students to take Foundations of Psychology before other psychology courses, but not necessary.
  • Statistics will be utilized in the Research Methods course. Again, it would be ideal for students to take statistics prior to Research Methods, but not required.
  • To qualify for a Psychology Minor, a student must take 24 credits of eligible courses. At least 50% of credits required for the Psychology Minor must be completed in residence at MSOE. Of the total number of credits required for the Psychology Minor, no more than 50% may be transferred in from another college or university. Of the total number of credits required for an academic minor, the student must complete at least three credits that are unique to the minor requirements and are not required for the student’s major field of study.
