The Civil and Architectural Engineering and Construction Management (CAECM) Department prepares students to lead and innovate within the built environment professions through hands-on, project-based learning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and strong industry engagement. The CAECM Department offers a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering (AE), a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management (CM), a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (CV), a Master of Science in Architectural Engineering, a Master of Science in Civil Engineering, and a Master of Science in Structural Engineering. The department also offers an accelerated five-year, early-entry master’s degree pathway for all three graduate programs, allowing qualified students to begin graduate coursework during their undergraduate studies. In addition, students may pursue a five-year double-major option that combines Architectural Engineering and Construction Management into a single Bachelor of Science degree.

Students across all three undergraduate programs share a common first-year experience that introduces the interconnected nature of engineering, design, and construction while allowing exploration of career pathways within the built environment. The Architectural Engineering program focuses on the design of structural, mechanical, and electrical building systems with areas of interest in each design specialty. The Construction Management program emphasizes modern construction methods, estimating, scheduling, project leadership, safety, and sustainability. The Civil Engineering program prepares students to design sustainable and resilient infrastructure systems with opportunities to focus on structural engineering, environmental engineering, transportation engineering, construction management, and municipal.

Across all programs, students engage in hands-on, real-world learning supported by laboratory facilities, design studios, industry partnerships, and interdisciplinary capstone experiences. The curriculum emphasizes technical excellence, ethical leadership, sustainability, collaboration, and professional practice, preparing graduates to make meaningful and impactful contributions to their communities and professions.
