Accreditation
The baccalaureate program at MSOE is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) One Dupont Circle, NW, Suite 530, Washington DC, 20036, 202-887-6791, and has full approval from the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services, Wisconsin Board of Nursing, 1400 E. Washington, Madison, WI 53703.
Vision
The MSOE School of Nursing (SON) aspires to excellence in educating nurses who impact society as expert practitioners, leaders and scholars.
Mission
The mission of the SON is to provide a program that educates its graduates to address the diagnosis and treatment of human responses to health states. It does this through the integration of technology into nursing practice, with the goal of improving the health of society.
Program Goals
- Educate men and women for practice as nursing generalists
- Educate men and women to serve the nursing needs of a diverse global community
- Educate men and women who are prepared to engage in graduate study
- Prepare graduates who can critically reflect on their nursing practice and evaluate the effects of their nursing care
- Prepare graduates who are guided by ethical principles and standards of professional care
Ruehlow Nursing Complex and Clinical Experiences
The Ruehlow Nursing Complex houses the School of Nursing labs and Simulation Center. Clinical experiences occur in a variety of hospitals and health care agencies in Milwaukee and surrounding communities.
Professional Nurse (RN) Licensure
Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are awarded the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BS in Nursing) degree and are eligible to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN)™. After successfully passing the NCLEX exam, graduates are eligible for licensure.
