CV 611 - Environmental Chemistry3 lecture hours 2 lab hours 4 credits Course Description Course topics include the following: (1) electroneutrality and its application to water analysis; (2) rates of chemical and biochemical reactions; (3) acid-base reactions and the carbonate system; (4) complexation reactions and chelation; (5) precipitation and dissolution reactions; (6) oxidation-reduction reactions; and (7) adsorption reactions. Modeling of aqueous equilibrium reactions will be performed using MINEQL+.
