AE 890 - Structural Engineering Design I3 lecture hours 0 lab hours 3 credits Course Description This two-course sequence (with AE 892 ) is the independent capstone project of the Master of Science in Structural Engineering program. The student will complete a project that presents a comprehensive solution to a structural engineering problem. The problem is to be formulated by the student under the supervision of a faculty advisor. The project may be based on the student’s industrial experience, consist of physical research or consist of an analytic solution. The project must be approved by the Master of Science in Structural Engineering program director and the AE&BC Department chairperson. Satisfactory progress and completion of the capstone project is to be determined by an academic committee consisting of the faculty advisor and at least two additional faculty members.
