NU 391 - Pathophysiology II4 lecture hours 0 lab hours 4 credits Course Description This course is the second in a two-part series. This course provides students with an understanding of disease process including etiology, manifestations, diagnosis and treatment modalities. Central concepts of pathophysiology and homeostasis provide the foundation for understanding alterations in: cellular function, cardiovascular function, respiratory function, fluid and electrolyte balance, acid-base balance, and genetics. (prereq: NU 290 ) Course Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to: • Understand the molecular basis of health and disease (Level 1, Health Concepts and Knowledge Development)
• Understand the pathogenesis and sequelae of disease processes (Level 1, Health Concepts and Knowledge Development)
• Understand the systemic effects of disease processes (Level 1, Health Concepts and Knowledge Development)
