IE 4622 - Organization and Job Design3 lecture hours 0 lab hours 3 credits Course Description Organizations are becoming increasingly more complex with regards to how business is accomplished when considering issues of cultural and emotional intelligence of employees, the impact of globalization as well as quality of working life issues. This course assists in the design, implementation and diffusion of productive organizations and an individual’s role within the organization. (prereq: junior standing) Course Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to: • understand the theories associated with organization and job design
• understand how to apply the job design theories and analytical methods in an effort to redesign a job and/or an organization
• conduct a detailed job analysis
• understand how different leadership skills and other organizational management approaches and how they impact team/group performance
• understand how organizational culture impacts employee morale and performance
