HU 487 - Visual Arts3 lecture hours 0 lab hours 3 credits Course Description This course studies the visual arts through history from the primitive to the present. Emphasis is placed on definition, context, purpose and personal significance. The design is for the non-art student and displays the effects of art on the everyday life of all people. Course Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to: • Introduce the non-Art student to the visual arts throughout history and display their relevance to everyone
• Familiarize participants with tools and methods of making art
• Increase student’s personal involvement and interest in the arts
