Course Description
This course aims to analyze the essential characteristics and experiences of the major world regions and to consider those forces that had a worldwide impact. Topics to be considered: the ancient, classical, and medieval civilizations of Eurasia; the Confucian, Muslim and non-European worlds on the eve of Europe’s expansion; and the roots of European expansion.
Course Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
• Understand the historical development of Western and non-Western cultures and compare and contrast the problems of both past and present generations
