BE 2000 - Biomedical Engineering Design I1 lecture hours 0 lab hours 1 credits Course Description This course is the first in a series of seven design courses that comprise the BE design sequence. In this course, particular emphasis is placed on design team formation, problem definition, identification of customers and customer needs, and literature review. In particular techniques for systematically searching trade, medical and engineering literature will be described. Project management techniques and budgeting, as well as FDA requirements for medical device design documentation will be covered. The course ends with team presentations defining their project objectives.
