IE 336 - Contemporary Manufacturing Systems2 lecture hours 2 lab hours 3 credits Contemporary manufacturing is viewed as an integrated system designed for maximum flexibility and rapid responsiveness. This course presents topics related to the design and analysis of manufacturing systems, including system improvement initiatives such as Lean and Quick Response Manufacturing. Laboratory exercises are included to enable students to practice techniques and analyze how various changes impact overall manufacturing system effectiveness. (prereq: junior standing)
