HU 449 - German History

This course provides a survey of German history from classical times through the present day. The course will focus upon the growth of Germany, particularly its establishment as a nation-state and the role that it played in European history from 1870 to the present. The course will also examine the political, social, economic, and foreign policy trends that have shaped Germany and its people. Finally, the course will examine the historiographical trends that have emerged from the study of German history.
