BUS 4902 - Business Capstone I3 lecture hours 0 lab hours 3 credits Course Description In the first capstone course, students will source and propose a summative project that demonstrates the student’s ability to integrate the knowledge, skills, and experiences acquired in their business program. Students will learn how to appropriately scope and complete a research project of this type while understanding stakeholder needs to solve a business need. They will learn research design, processes, tools, and analysis methods in preparation for the work they will complete in Capstone II class. Prereq: Senior standing and advisor approval This course meets the following Raider Core CLO Requirement: Integrate Learning Course Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Develop a clearly defined project scope, approved for applied research in Capstone II, that aligns with established capstone project parameters
- Demonstrate an understanding of appropriate research tools and methodologies and apply them effectively to an applied business research project
- Identify, analyze, and manage stakeholder needs and expectations throughout the project lifecycle
- Analyze a complex, real-world business problem using structured and evidence-based approaches
- Evaluate and select appropriate methodological and analytical approaches to develop well-supported, actionable solutions
