BUS 3790 - Web Design I3 lecture hours 0 lab hours 3 credits Course Description This course introduces business students to web design and development using XHTML, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery. Students will build interactive, cross-browser websites with validated forms, graphics, animations, and basic database integration using MySQL. Topics include mobile app fundamentals, image optimization, and site analytics for marketing. By course end, students will create a fully functional, responsive website tailored to business needs. Prereq: None Note: None This course meets the following Raider Core CLO Requirement: None Course Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Write valid XHTML and HTML5 code to structure web content for business applications
- Apply CSS techniques to format, style, and layout responsive websites compatible across major browsers
- Implement interactive features using JavaScript and jQuery, including form validation and dynamic content updates
- Design and develop web forms with client-side validation and basic server-side integration
- Integrate site analytics tools to monitor traffic, user behavior, and marketing performance
- Demonstrate an understanding of how artificial intelligence can enhance web design in basic web layout and inclusivity.
