CVE 5201 - Environmental and Water Law3 lecture hours 0 lab hours 3 credits Course Description This course presents case law and regulations relating to the areas of water law and environmental compliance that impact the practice of water and environmental engineers. Prereq: None Note: This course is open to qualified undergraduate students. Course Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Explain the differences in approaches to water law under the appropriation and riparian doctrines
- Interpret water and environmental law in the context of engineering projects
- Devise engineering strategies to achieve environmental and water law compliance
- Evaluate legal and regulatory strategies to protect public welfare and the environment
