RSC 4010 - Fourth-Year Seminar I1 lecture hours 0 lab hours 1 credits Course Description This fall seminar is designed to support the retention and success of fourth-year MSOE students and students of senior standing through culturally centered experiences and activities that foster community engagement at MSOE. The framework for instruction is based on the Council for the Advancement of Standards of Higher Education’s Learning and Development Domains and Outcomes (2020), specific to humanitarianism and civic engagement, and interpersonal competence, with an emphasis on global perspectives and social responsibility. Prereq: Coordinator consent Note: This seminar is offered only in fall. This course meets the following Raider Core CLO Requirement: None Course Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Understand and analyze the interconnectedness of societies worldwide
- Recognize social systems and their influence on people and appropriately challenge the unfair, unjust, or uncivil behavior of other individuals or group
- Affirm and value the worth of individuals and communities
- Understand and participate in relevant governance systems
- Educate and facilitate the civic engagement of others
