RSC 2010 - Second-Year Seminar I1 lecture hours 0 lab hours 1 credits Course Description This seminar is designed to support the retention and success of second-year MSOE students and students of sophomore standing through culturally centered learning experiences and activities that enhance students’ academic and social integration to MSOE. The instructional framework is based on the Council for the Advancement of Standards of Higher Education’s Learning and Development Domains and Outcomes (2020), specific to intrapersonal development and practical competence, with an emphasis on career exploration. Prereq: Coordinator consent Note: This seminar is offered only in the fall. This course meets the following Raider Core CLO Requirement: None Course Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Relate knowledge to major and career decisions; make connections between classroom and out-of-classroom learning
- Articulate career choices based on assessment of interests, values, skills, and abilities
- Takes steps to initiate a job search or seek advanced education
- Construct a resume based on clear job objective and with evidence of knowledge, skills, and abilities
