RSC 1011 - First-Year Seminar II1 lecture hours 0 lab hours 1 credits Course Description This seminar is designed to support the retention and success of first-year MSOE students and transfers through culturally centered learning experiences and activities that enhance academic and social integration to MSOE. The framework for instruction is based on the Council for the Advancement of Standards of Higher Education’s Learning and Development Domains and Outcomes (2020). It builds on First-Year Seminar I, with an emphasis on practical competence: self-care and well-being. Prereq: Coordinator consent Note: This seminar is only offered in spring. This course meets the following Raider Core CLO Requirement: None Course Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Engage in behaviors and contribute to environments that promote health and reduce risk
- Articulate the relationship between health and wellness in accomplishing goals
- Make purposeful decisions regarding balance among education, work, and leisure time
